Sometimes, the Help We Give Comes Back as a Story of Hope

What started as an ordinary livestream giveaway turned into a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.

During one of our livestreams, a lady ( Ujunwa Maryann )joined us and began helping our team identify and connect with potential beneficiaries. She wasn’t asking for anything for herself. She simply saw an opportunity to help others, and she willingly gave her time and support.

After the livestream, we offered her some money as a token of appreciation for the help she had given us. To our surprise, she declined.

A few days later, I reached out to her again.

That conversation stayed with me.

As we spoke, I learned more about her life, her challenges, and the determination she had to build something for herself despite the difficulties she was facing. What touched me most was that someone who had been willing to help others when she was struggling herself had quietly been carrying so much of her own burden.

Sometimes, you don’t see the full story when you first meet someone.

We realized that she didn’t simply need a handout. She needed an opportunity—something that could help her move forward and create a more stable future for herself.

Through our foundation, we decided to support her with the funds she needed to secure a space for her business.

For us, this was about more than providing financial assistance. It was about creating an opportunity for someone who was already willing to work hard and build a better future.

Her story reminded us of something we deeply believe in: help can take many forms. Sometimes it’s food. Sometimes it’s financial support. Sometimes it’s simply an opportunity to start again.

And sometimes, the person who comes into your life to help others turns out to be someone who needs help too.

We are grateful that our paths crossed.

We hope that the support she received will be the beginning of a new chapter—one filled with growth, independence, and greater possibilities.
