A simple street encounter has turned into a heartwarming story of compassion, generosity and continued support.
The Jaymatchmaker Foundation, in collaboration with its generous supporters, organized a massive street giveaway on August 25, 2026, bringing together members of its livestream community and volunteers to reach people in need directly on the streets.
The initiative was designed to put smiles on the faces of needy individuals, particularly small-scale hawkers and others working hard to make a living. During the giveaway, members of the livestream community went onto the streets, meeting people and blessing them with financial assistance.
What began as a general street outreach, however, became a particularly memorable moment when one of the volunteers encountered a pregnant woman walking home after attending her antenatal appointment.
A Chance Encounter With Adesumobi
As the outreach was nearing its conclusion, one of the volunteers came across a pregnant Yoruba woman identified as Adesumobi.
The Jaymatchmaker team signalled for her to stop, and after speaking with her, they discovered that she was only one month away from giving birth.
The initial plan was to give Adesumobi the same amount of money being given to other beneficiaries during the street giveaway. But as her story was shared with people watching the livestream, the situation quickly took a different turn.
Viewers were touched by her circumstances and decided to go beyond the original giveaway amount.
Through the generosity of people on the livestream, Adesumobi eventually received ?90,000, turning what had initially been an ordinary encounter into a deeply meaningful act of kindness.
The Support Did Not End on the Street
Rather than allowing the encounter to end after the giveaway, the Jaymatchmaker team maintained contact with Adesumobi.
The matchmaker took her contact details, allowing further support to be coordinated for her as she prepared to welcome her baby.
Subsequent donations were sent to Adesumobi to help her purchase essential items for her newborn. The continued assistance demonstrated that the foundation's intervention was not simply about handing out money for a moment, but about responding to a genuine need and helping a beneficiary prepare for an important stage of her life.
Adesumobi Shares the Results
Adesumobi has now sent videos showing the items she was able to purchase through the support she received from the Jaymatchmaker Foundation and its supporters.
The videos provide a touching follow-up to the original street encounter, showing how the generosity she received was translated into practical preparations for her baby.
